Organization of World Championship 2008 to AlmereOn Sunday 15th of July 2007, during the closing ceremony of the World championship Long Distance Triathlon in Lorient(France) the organization of the WC 2008 was officially given to 'Stichting Holland Triathlon'. They will organize this big event on August 31st 2008.

Chairman Roely Graman accepted the flag from a representive of the International Triathlon Union (ITU). With this the responsibily of organizing the WC is transferred to Almere. Roely Graman expressed her expectation of organizing a great Championship in 2008 and invited the many athletes present at the ceremony to join the Championship in 2008.
Last weekend a delegation of the 'Stichting Holland Triathlon' was present in Lorient to prepare for the 2008 World Championship. They spoke with local event organisers and representatives of the ITU.
